[Birth Control] High Blood Pressure

I have been diagnosed about five years ago with having high blood pressure at 21. I have been on Cyclen 21 since I was 17 and have never switched pills. My Dr. tested my cholesterol levels which was normal, did a heart test which is normal and really could not find reason for my High BP, except for the pill and it does not run in my family. But I have an irregular period (before the pill) and I like this as my method of birth control as I have been with he same person for 4 years. Therefore I do not want to go off the pill. She thinks the pill is making my BP high, but never suggested changing it to lower does and opted to put me on meds. I was first on a water pill that reduced it, but after 3 years I was stagnant and she switched me to coversyl (4mg). I am 25 and my boyfriends parents take Coversyl, and if I do not need to be on this medication I would rather not. My pharmacist suggested getting my DR. to switch me to the Allesse birth control b/c it has lower levels of estrogens. I take my pill every day at the same time and in the 9 years I have been on the pill I have only missed 2 pills. What is your opinion on the matter, and what kind of pill is Allesse. I don't want to gain weight or get acne, which I heard can be a side effect if Allesse.

Thank you for your advice.
