[Birth Control] Lo-Ovral too weak for me?

Been on Lo-Ovral since July 2001 as a continuous use pill for treatment of endo and cysts. I see that breakthrough bleeding is a common problem with continuous BCPs. I can go three months and then start spotting or staining. My question is, is the estrogen levels in the BCPs supposed to override my natural cycle? I get cramps and backache just like I'm used to have before my period. I didn't think the endometriosis would act up until my system "knew" it was supposed to menstruate. If estrogen feeds endometriosis, would a stronger pill than Lo-Ovral defeat that purpose? Just wondering if Lo-Ovral is still a good option for me since I'm staining and cramping. Thank you.
