[Birth Control] PCOS/pregnancy/Orth-Tri-Cyclen

First, I have heard several people say to me that Ortho-Tri-Cyclen is not the nest choice of BCP's for women with PCOS as it doens't effective prevent more cysts from developing. After reading questions posted here, do you feel it wise to approach my OBGYN about switching to Yasmin or another BCP?

Second, Prometrium is another BCP that a friend mentioned that doesn't harm the fetus if you get pregnant and continue to take the pill until you realize you're pregnant. Is this true?

Third, I was silly and thought I could make my period come sooner if I doubled up on the last 8 "non-placebo" pills of Ortho-TriCyclen, so that when I was at the beach with my husband, my period would be over. We had sex on a Tuesday, 2 days after I finished doubling up on the last week of pills and during the week of placebos. I started the next set of pills on that Friday. I got a very light period that lasted 4 days (mine are usually heavy for 5-7 days). Now I have breast tenderness, swelling of the ankles, the frequent need to pee and am very tired. Should I need to test?
