Hello,

I've been on Ortho Tri Cyclen for over three years. I am a marathon runner and have experienced a considerable amount of weight gain in the last year or so. I thought of every possibility of why I have been experiencing weight gain. (I'm 26 yrs old. 5'2 and now 125 where I was previously 115). A friend of mine asked me if I was on the pill and told me that it could be the possible reason for my weight gain as well as my inability to lose the weight.

I immediately stopped using Ortho about a month ago, but realize I need the pill in order to maintain a normal mentrual cycle ( my periods tend to be on the heavy side without it). My doctor recommended Yasmin. I have yet to try my new prescription, figuring I should wait till after my menstrual cycle.

What are the side effects of using Yasmin and will I be more sensitive to the pill since i took a month off of Ortho?
